PDP, APC IN A CORRUPTION CONTEST

Peoples Democratic Party while reacting to a claim by President Muhammadu Buhari that PDP squandered the sum of $500bn oil proceeds within 16 years has challenged President Buhari to name a corrupt politician in the PDP and in turn, they will give him a list of corrupt politicians in the All Progressives Congress. The party made this known in a statement by PDP national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, describing the president's claim as baseless, unfounded, and unsubstantiated.

According to PDP, the entire country is aware that the Presidency is on a feverish mode over their bound-to-fail 2019 re-election bid for which they have resorted to making spurious claims against the PDP even when it is clear to Nigerians that the PDP has since re-branded while preponderance of those who mismanaged the nation’s resources have now found a safe haven in the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ideal Olive gathered from a local source that the party has challenged President Buhari to name one corrupt person in the re-positioned and re-branded PDP and it will hand him a list of an army of corrupt persons who are hiding in his APC including those who funded his 2015 presidential campaigns with stolen money in addition to his many cronies who are now frittering away billions of Naira under his watch.

While pardoning President Buhari over his unverified claims, saying that he did not source his figures, PDP asked if the president and his handlers are not aware of the humongous corruption going on under the Buhari presidency. What have they to say to the recent Transparency International (TI) report which shows that corruption has worsened under the Buhari administration? What have they to say about the official memo detailing shady oil deals to the tune of N9 trillion ($25 billion) at the NNPC which is directly under the coverage of the President as minister of Petroleum resources?

"The presidency is yet to address its complicity in the heavy sleazes in the National Health Insurance Scheme where billions of Naira have allegedly been siphoned by their agents, in spite of the Treasury Single Account (TSA); the alleged diversion of N1.1 trillion worth of crude oil and the frittering of billions of naira meant for rehabilitation of Internally Displaced Persons in the northeast, all to service APC interests?”Has Mr President forgotten that when he assumed office in 2015, the value of our Naira was N185 to 1USD? Nigerians are aware that the Naira went as low as N510 to 1USD and in case Mr. President is not aware, Nigerians are also ridiculing his much touted strengthening of the Naira.

On the other hand, ideal olive gathered from a local source that the All Progressives Congress has described corruption as the oxygen on which the opposition Peoples Democratic Party survives.

The blame game politics and the politics of hate and destructive criticisms have left many Nigerians confused about the way out for Nigeria, which in no doubt is caught up in an oppressive struggle; the helpless victim in the tale of two poisonous cities, PDP and APC. It is left for Nigerians to decide their fate come 2019 through their voter’s card.

Jacob Zuma Finally Resigns As South African president

According to BBC reports, President Zuma of South Africa has announced his resignation in a televised address to his people on Wednesday, February 14. The ruling ANC party had asked the president to resign or face a possible vote of no confidence at the parliament on Thursday, February 15. Due to the controversy that has been trailing his governance, President Zuma, a 75-year old politician has resigned under pressure, leaving his seat for the deputy president, Cyril Ramaphosa, the new ANC leader.

Idealolive blogspot gathered that Zuma who has ruled South Africa since 2009 was asked to step down by ANC following his alleged partnership with a corrupt association named Gupta that have been named in series of corruption probes according to local media

In his address, he expressed that he did not agree with the way in which the party treated him, having been a disciplined member of the ANC, saying that he decided to resign prevent bloodshed as no life should be lost because of him and that also ANC should never be divided because of him. He said that he has served the people of South Africa to the best of his ability and have therefore come to the decision to resign as president of the republic with immediate effect.

However, he assured the people of South Africa that he will continue to serve them, as well as the ANC all his life.

It has become absurd that African leaders have become so obsessed with power that they will have to wait until they are disgraced out of the office before they decide to resign or step aside. The most annoying thing is that they are not colonizing their countries for the well being of the citizens but for their selfish interests. One can hardly name any of them with good record and without an iota of corruption. Yet they will want to stick like pests on the countries they rule until they rip it of all the goodness that God Almighty has embedded in them.

BUHARI HAS CORRUPTION ON HIS NOSE

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, saying that Buhari's anti-corruption crusade has been polluted by people in his inner circle. According to The Nation, the former President in this recent attack stated that Buhari has corruption on his nose.

From what Idealolive.blogspot.com gathered from an interview Obasanjo had with German International broadcasting outlet, Deutsche Welle, Obasanjo said that the President’s anti-corruption fight has been polluted by people in his inner circles. He said that the president could do better on how he goes about the war on corruption, adding that if he was the president, he would make sure people in charge of anti-corruption institutions are people of integrity. There is no point in fighting corruption beyond you and yet, have corruption on your nose, he stated.

Recall that Obasanjo had written in late on January saying among others that President Buhari is sacrificing national interest on the altar of nepotic interest, and had advised the President to resign and not to seek re-election in 2019, as he is already being pressured to do by some Nigerians.

Also recall that while delivering his New Year message this year, Re. Fr. Ejike Mbaka had said that Unless President Buhari quickly and strategically positions the right people and changes the former ones inaugurated by him, the wind of change that he himself inaugurated will blow him away shamefully.

It is clear that our dear president has abused the privilege given to him by Nigerians and is no longer wanted. Everything is turning against him and it is obvious that the positive change he brought had little impact on Nigerians as compared with calamities that Nigerians have experienced since he assumed office in 2015.

Idealolive.blogspot.com is also appealing to the president to start planning for a better replacement as he is now in captive of the corruption he came to fight. Nigerians need to move forward.

WANTED! MILLIONNAIRE SNAKE OF MAKURDI JAMB OFFICE

The Mysterious Jamb Office Snake?

The story of the mysterious snake that allegedly broke into the JAMB’s vault at its Benue State Office in Makurdi, leading to the disappearance of a total of N36 million has continued to generate some controversy since the weekend.

Recall that around August 2017, it was reported that rodents chased the President out of the office. Many Nigerians have taken to social media to confirm that President Trump did not in any way make mistakes in referring to Nigeria and other African countries as ‘shithole’ countries. It is beginning to dawn on people that animals are gradually taking over this country.
The Mysterious Jamb Office Snake?

We are in the era of cashless economy when nobody likes to handle cash for security reasons, yet an institution called Jamb had the guts to confess that money disappears mysteriously from the bank and so they had to save in the vaults. This kind of story should be for children’s cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Alice in the Wonderland, etc., and not for adults.

All persons responsible for the missing money at Makurdi’s Jamb office has lots of questions to answer and they must provide that money. There is no logical excuse as far as we are concerned. That Philomena’s housemaid connived with another JAMB staff, Joan Asen, to “spiritually” steal the money from the vault in the account office makes no sense.

Idealolive.blogspot.com.ng says: that millionaire snake must be hunted down and operated on, to recover the 36 Million Naira, because a set of people cannot continue to starve others in this country and get away with it.

Arrest of Innoson Boss, Nigerians are Killing their own Economy

It was reported that Chairman of Innoson Group, Dr Innocent Chukwuma of Innoson Motors, told members of the Senate Committee on Anti-corruption, how his family members were maltreated by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, when they arrested him last December. He said that his wife was slapped while his four-month-old grandson and staff members were tear-gassed by EFCC operatives after forcefully gaining entrance to his house. If he resisted their arrest, it would have been a different thing but he confessed that he did not and do not even know any thug to assist in resisting arrest.

It was also reported that Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia-PDP), had on December 20, a day after the arrest, announced at plenary that the operatives of EFCC slapped the wife of Mr. Chukwuma because she asked them why they were arresting her husband.

Meanwhile, a Lagos High Court Sitting in Ikeja has issued a warrant of arrest on the Chairman of Innoson Motors Limited to have him arrested again.

I wonder why a country like Nigeria in need of investors, even foreign investors, are humiliating those who were able to navigate the tough terrain of Nigerian business world to improve Nigerian economy. Some business is crumbling because of the harsh economic situations, multiple taxation, poor infrastructures, etc. Many people want to be self employed, they want to create employment but cannot do so because of bad roads, power failure, political instability, inconsistency in policy and in keeping the set laws, etc. Yet, those who were able to do so are always under investigation for no good reason.

If the EFCC and those who order them will channel this strength of theirs to the real criminals in this country, Nigeria will experience growth and development. Innoson did not kill anybody, he did not steal from the government purse, he was not caught with hard drugs or weapons of destruction, yet they have the guts to arrest him like a common criminal.

If he had boycotted paying his tax or owed his workers, it would have been a different case. Even if it were those, he deserves some respect while being arrested. Where were EFCC when politicians or leaders steal money and dump in foreign banks? They chose to develop other countries rather than their own. What crime could be greater than those? How many of those politicians have been arrested and prosecuted?

Recently, idealolive.blogspot.com gathered that Britain officials worked out an estimate of around £90 billion ($ 127 billion, 102 billion euros) of illegal funds that are smuggled into Britain every year which includes money stolen from the Nigerian treasury. They are set to use the Unexplained Wealth Orders (UWOs) initiative to allow the British authorities to freeze and recover the property of any individual who failed to explain how he or she acquired assets to the tune of £50,000 or more.

This is the much most of leaders can do for those who elected them; to throw away the fund meant to use to better the lives of Nigerians. If they cannot explain the source of their income, the British authorities will convert them to better their own country while Nigerians will continue to suffer.

Yet, nobody chases these criminals around; nobody monitors their accounts and records, their moves and their spending habits. Rather, EFCC and their cohorts channel all their energy to monitoring, investigating, harassing and probing the hardworking and innovative investors that are even few, who are contributing their quota to the growth and development of the country. EFCC and their sponsors really have no work to do.

NIGERIA NEED THE LIKES OF DR. ALEX EKWUEME

We celebrate the rich and the famous; we bow to kings and queens; we fear the powerful and influential personalities; but one thing is note worthy: Those that deserve respect and honour are those who use their God-given potentials to serve God and common man.  Those who deserve to be honoured are men of integrity, men who value the lives of their fellow human beings, men who have good sense of judgment and who stand for the truth, no matter who is involved.

We are all strangers in this world and therefore will one day leave this earth, no matter how well positioned, connected and wealthy we are. I may not know Dr. Alex Ekwueme in person but I have been hearing about him, just like I hear about other politicians and leaders.

According to Vanguard Newspaper of February 3, 2018, Dr Ekwueme practiced excellent humility and made sacrifices for fellow Nigerians. He exhibited exemplary loyalty as a public officer and was a man who was always content with the position he held. According to the vice president, there was nothing about corruption that was linked to him. It was also reported that Dr. Alex Ekwueme was not only an accomplished professional, but also a great statesman who loved his people and the nation at large, which he displayed through his philanthropy and selfless leadership.

Moreover, The Primate of Church of Nigerian Anglican Communion, His Grace, Nicholas Okoh also stated in his message that Ewkueme took people’s problems as his own and advised today’s politicians to get affect people’s lives positively. According to him, if all politicians played the late Ekwueme’s style of politics, Nigerians would be at peace with each other, thereby relegating ethnic politics to the background.

Based on the testimonies of the life Ekwueme lived, it is obvious that he is not the type of politician Nigeria has today. If he can have 60% of his type in politics, Nigeria will indeed be a safe haven for every one of us.

To rename the Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ikwo Ebonyi State as Dr. Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo is an honour well deserved. We urge the citizens of Nigeria to think of such men of integrity and give them their votes this coming election.

RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM

When I was little, I hear about few pastors who pray for the sick and they get healed, I hear about prophets, evangelists and men of God who pray and the lame will walk, the blind will see, the deaf will hear, the dumb will speak and even a dead person will come back to life. People attend crusades with great expectations of getting so much burdens and problems off their neck.

But these days, it is about the richest pastors in the world, the richest pastors or men of God in Africa, the richest pastors or men of God in Nigeria, the brand of cars they ride on, those that have acquired private jet, those of them that has built the most magnificent cathedrals, etc.

Miracles have become so rare. People are being misinformed about God’s blessings and answers to prayers. People are getting confused about God and his ways because they depend on these men of God to know God’s ways instead of studying His Word.

Naij.com recently reported of a South African Pastor that arrived in Rolls Royce, horses and police entourage to enter his church. According to Naij.com, “A South African pastor and general overseer of Alleluia Ministries International, Alph Lukau, is in the news after he made a grand entry into the church premises. It was also reported that this is not the first time he would make such an entry but it has become his tradition, especially when he returns from a long trip”.

I wonder why many people are still being deceived at this information age. Some Christians receive so much humiliation in the name of deliverance. Yet their problems get worse. They sow seed only to get poorer, yet they seem not to understand the handwriting on the wall. I think that what Christians need these days is mental/mindset deliverance which they may not get from the church but by reading the Word of God, linking it to the present and asking God to help them understand through the Holy Spirit.
